100% llama wool – Bolivia

Llama wool is our signature material and holds a very special place in our hearts. The wool has exceptional properties – it is both soft, durable, and has a natural resistance to pilling. It is also hypoallergenic, temperature-regulating, and self-cleaning. The wool is sourced and refined locally at a factory in Bolivia, with which we have worked closely since aiayu’s beginnings over 20 years ago. The factory manages all stages of production – from fibre sorting, cleaning, carding, and spinning to the finished, knitted product. The llamas roam and graze freely in large herds in the Bolivian highlands.
